The grant is available to anyone whose home or business was internally damaged by flooding between 1 December 2013 and 31 March 2014. The purpose of these grant is to help minimise the impact to properties in the event of future flooding.
People whose homes and businesses were flooded between 1 December and 31 March.
The grant is to help people with the cost of buying and installing new flood defences for their home.
Applicants can utilise advice on the Property Protection Adviser website to help select the most appropriate resilience and/ or resistance measures for the nature of the flood risk to their property: https://nationalfloodforum.org.uk/about-flooding/reducing-your-risk/protecting-your-property/
The grant can pay up to £5,000.

As outlined in the guidance document; if flood resilience measures to your property are negated by wider improvements made by the community flood defence scheme for 2014 you will not be eligible to apply.
