Blue Badges are parking permits for disabled motorists who reside within the borough of Fareham. These badges enable them to park free in all pay and display car parks. The Britain in Bloom awards presentation took place in Birmingham on 29th September 2010. The Borough received the Silver Gilt Medal for the large town/small city category and the schools award for the best school entry in the UL - Northern Junior Community School. The Councils Horticultural Development Officer, Matt Wakefield, was awarded the Britain in Bloom Community Champion Award, for services to the Bloom, Horticulture and the Community.
