Environmental Health Officers often receive complaints of noise associated with the persistent ringing of audible intruder alarms installed at domestic premises.
Upon hearing an alarm, neighbours are likely to contact the police. The police will investigate whether or not an illegal entry has been made into property. Where the activation is a false alarm and the alarm continues to ring unabated, the police will try to locate a key-holder. Where a key holder cannot be located, the police will contact an Environmental Health Officer. Within the borough of Fareham, such officers are on duty 24 hours a day.

The Housing Position Statement is an annual report detailing the council's view on the managed release of housing sites over the next year. It is set against a background of national and strategic guidance and takes account of the latest housing land supply information. The position statement is a site by site assessment of the allocated and identified housing sites that did not have planning permission by the 31st March of that year.
