Industrial Estates

The Council owns the freehold of a number of industrial estates in Fareham located at:

• Palmerston Business Park
• Newgate Lane Industrial Estate
• Penant Park
• Salterns Lane Industrial Estate

Infectious Diseases

Infectious diseases which the Environmental Health Division deal with include: Salmonella, Giardiasis, and Campylobacter Enteritis and Measles. If you would like to report a case of these or any other infectious disease or would like advice, please contact the Department of Regulatory Services, Environmental Health Division on tel: 01329 236100 or e-mail regulatory@fareham.gov.uk.

 

Insects (pest control)

A service is offered for most crawling insects, although a charge is made. Most wasp nests on domestic properties can be treated, again a charge is made. If you do have a problem please contact the Environmental Health Division in the Department of Regulatory Services on tel: 01329 236100 or e-mail regulatory@fareham.gov.uk.

Insect Infestation from commercial properties: From 6th April 2006 the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 added to the descriptions of statutory nuisance to include "any insects emanating from relevant industrial, trade or business premises and being prejudicial to health or a nuisance.

Locating the source of insect nuisance can be a difficult and lengthy process. Local authorities have a duty, however, to take reasonable steps, where practicable, to investigate any complaints of insect nuisance. Internal Audit

The council has an internal audit team that provides a comprehensive and independent internal audit service that covers all the council's services. Particular emphasis is placed on systems audit, contract audit and value for money, and the Internal Audit Section works closely with the Council's external auditors.
