Information, support and advice for elderly people, including information on retirement, adult education, sheltered housing, social service and assistance with garden maintenance and internal decoration. For further information please e-mail community@fareham.gov.uk.

Older Persons Strategy

Fareham’s Older Persons Strategy has been developed following an extensive consultation process.  This involved a series of events held with groups of older people and with local statutory and voluntary agencies backed up by a survey of older people.  This consultation revealed that most of the older people in Fareham were overall very happy with the quality of life in Fareham, but that there were some areas for concern.

Ombudsman

If you wish to complain about something that the Council has done, or has failed to do, we strongly recommend that you make your complaint first through the Council's Complaints procedure (please see 'Complaints' in the A to Z). However, if you wish to have your complaint looked at independently, you can write to the Local Government Ombudsman to ask him to investigate the matter. There are limitations on the type of complaints that the Ombudsman will investigate but his office will advise on these.

The Ombudsman for Southern England is Mr J R White. He can be contacted at the Commission for Local Administration in England, The Oaks, 2 Westwood Business Park, Coventry CV4 8JB - tel: 024 7682 0000; fax: 024 7682 0001.
