Hampshire County Council Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) opening times are; 1st April to 30th September, 8.00am - 7.00pm. 1st October to 31st March, 8.00am - 4.00pm. They close on 25th and 26th December.

Fareham is twinned with the towns of Pulheim in Germany (near Cologne) and Vannes in France (in southern Britanny). There is a programme of civic visits between the Borough Council and the authorities of each twin town, in alternate years. The visits to and from Pulheim normally involve 'working meetings' to learn about the way each deals with matters of common interest. There are arrangements for staff exchanges between the officers of Fareham and Vannes for the same purpose.
In addition to civic visits, there are a large number of other exchanges between Fareham and the two twin towns, involving youth groups, community organisations and sports clubs, etc. These are organised privately by the respective Twinning Committees. The Travel Planner shows proposed road works in Hampshire and also gives information on car sharing schemes. It also provides access to information on air travel from both Southampton (Eastleigh) and Bournemouth airports.
