Fareham Borough Council is encouraging residents to get outdoors and "Walk their way to health". The Walking to Health scheme features a series of walks around the Borough, each led by a trained volunteer. A new programme of walks is produced very two months. We have created a range of self guided walks, varying in difficulty and duration, ranging from short walks over flat terrain with few obstacles, to a lengthy hike involving slopes and frequent stiles and steps. Each walk has detailed instructions, including a basic map, plus information on the nearest refreshments. The ancient suburb of Wallington is situated to the east of Fareham and was once regarded almost as a separate settlement.
Warsash is an attractive residential and yachting centre which lies on the east bank of the River Hamble.
The nearest ones are Barnes Wallis Road, Segensworth, Fareham. Port Solent or Grange Road, Gosport. Hampshire County Council Household Waste Recycling Centres 'HWRC' opening times are; 1st April to 30th September, 8am - 7pm. 1st October to 31st March, 8am - 4.00pm. They close on 25th and 26th December.

Fareham Borough Council has introduced a free garden waste collection service. Householders are issued with a re-usable garden waste sack, which is emptied fortnightly from the kerbside.
Replacement garden waste sacks are free of charge if collected, but there is a £5-00 delivery charge. Residents are able to collect a sack free of charge by telephoning the Council for details of when garden waste sacks can be collected. When collecting sacks, householders should bring written proof of residency in the Borough - such as name and address on a utility bill or Driving License.

During the summer months (May to September) the Environment Agency carries out bacteriological testing of the sea water at the borough's beaches. The results are posted on our notice boards located in the car parks at Monks Hill, Salterns Road, and Hill Head Sailing club.

Westbury Manor Museum is an 18th century grade II listed building on West Street in Fareham. The exhibitions and galleries tell the story of the borough of Fareham and the museum's Resources Room is packed with local history information. Fareham's Tourist Information Centre and a cafe overlooking the Victorian Garden are located on the ground floor.
Entry is free and the museum is open Monday to Friday 10.00am till 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am till 4.00pm.

The workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 cover any premises or part of premises (excluding domestic premises) which are made available to any person as a place of work. They cover a wide range of basic health, safety and welfare issues. Employers have a general duty under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of their employees at work. A duty to non-employees is contained in section 4 of the Act.
