What information do you have about Fareham firms?

The Fareham Business Database is a comprehensive record of Fareham firms and their activities. Listings can be generated and supplied electronically to suit your particular requirements. This is a free service for Fareham firms but a charge is made for database interrogations for non-Fareham firms.

How do I get advice about starting a business?

The Council supports the Regional Business Centre which acts as a one-stop-shop for business advice in the Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth area. Please phone 023 9244 9449.

 

How can I find business premises in the Fareham area?

PROP South East is a register of currently available premises in the Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth area.

What sites are available for business development in Fareham?

Fareham's key development sites are grouped around Junction 9 of the M27 motorway at Segensworth and Whiteley - more details are available in the business section.

 

Are grants available for business start-ups in Fareham?

No, Fareham does not benefit from the financial support made available in some less prosperous regions to encourage new business formation and growth.

 

Does the Council provide business premises for rent?

Yes, the Council has a portfolio of business premises at Fort Fareham, Palmerston Business Park, Newgate Lane and various other locations in the Borough. In March 2002 the Council acquired an office building on the Cams Estate - "faretec" provides technology businesses with 6 well-connected office suites, available on flexible short-term leases.

What is Fareham Enterprise Centre?

The Council owns the freehold of the Centre, but it is managed by Enterprise First which also offers business advice to occupiers.

Where are Fareham's business areas?

The largest concentration of Fareham's business areas is around Junction 9 of the M27. South of the motorway the Segensworth Employment area has developed in phases over the last 25 years. Titchfield Park between Segensworth Road and the A27 contains Office for National Statistics and Eaton Aerospace. Kites Croft lies south of the A27 close to St Margarets roundabout.

North of Junction 9 is Solent Business Park.

South of the M27 between Junction 10 and 11 are Fareham Industrial Park, Fareham Heights and Fort Wallington, while along the A32, the Wickham Road business area includes Furzehall Farm and The Potteries. The modern business park and golf course at the Cams Estate is south of the A27 at Delme roundabout. Newgate Lane, a mile to the south of the town centre, provides a range of industrial and commercial uses. Portchester Park and the Murrills Estate lie to the south and north of the A27 close to the Borough boundary.

 

Who are Fareham's largest employers?

Fareham has 10 employers of more than 500 people.  The largest is National Air Traffic Services Ltd with over 2,000 employed at its sites at Swanwick and Solent Business Park.  HMS Collingwood and the Office for National Statistics each employ in excess of 1,000.  Schefenacker Vision Systems (SVS) UK Ltd at Portchester, CooperVision Limited at Segensworth, Fareham College, Eaton Aerospace at Titchfield, Meggitt Avionics at Segensworth and Fareham Borough Council employ in excess of 500 people.
