Fareham Town Centre Goes Green

Around 25 businesses in Fareham town centre are now offering customers a high quality, reusable, limited edition Fareham shopper bag.

Organised and funded by Fareham Town Centre Management, the promotion is making a valuable contribution to a greener environment, whilst at the same time highlighting the importance of supporting local shops and independent traders.

The bags cost £1.99 each, where sold.

Said Patricia Gray, Fareham Town Centre Manager 'Choosing a Fareham Shopper Bag is one way of taking personal responsibility for minimising waste and for using resources in a sustainable way; one bag can replace more than 300 conventional plastic bags in its lifetime.'
 

• Fareham Shopper bags are eco-friendly reusable bags made in fairly traded jute. They are carbon-neutral, sustainably-sourced, natural, long-lasting and ultimately biodegradable.
