Mayor's Chosen Charities 2008/2009

NSPCC

The NSPCC whose aim is to prevent cruelty and abuse of children, helping vulnerable children in many ways including the telephone service of “Child Line”.

Crimestoppers

Crimestoppers, an independent charity working to help solve crimes in conjunction with the police.  Their telephone service is completely confidential.  Callers are never asked to identify themselves as they pass on information vital to aid the authorities.

Fareport Talking News

Fareport talking news, which offers a “talking news” service to blind or vision impaired people, delivering tapes and CDs in Fareham and Gosport with items culled from local newspapers and magazines.
