FarehamMap Help Facility: Map Layers
Map Layers
| Map Layer Tabs |
Map Layers are divided up into a series of
categories ("tabs"). Each tab can be
extended by selecting the title of the tab and
corresponding map layers will be revealed. Each
map layer can be switched on and off
independently using the check boxes on the left
hand side. Use the refresh button after checking
the box for the layer to appear on the map. |
|
| Key |
The key appears under the map layer name in
the map layers tabs. The key represents the
appearance of the different features that appear
in the map. |
|
| More Info |
The more info buttons link to a page that is
related to the map layer and may provide more
information regarding the map. This link may go
to another website other than Fareham Borough
Council's. |
|
| Refresh |
Refreshes the map based on the map layers
that are switched on and off in the map layer
tabs. |
|
| Clear |
Clears all layers from the map. (i.e.
switches all maps off) |
|
| Multiple Layers |
Although there is no limit to the number
layers that can be switched on at once, the
performance of FarehamMap can be reduced if too
many layers are switched on at once. We advise
that no more then 5 layers are switched on at
once. |
|
| Zoom Limits |
Specific layers will not switch on at certain
map scales as certain map layers may not be
accurate enough to be viewed at a small scale. If
the layer of interest is not visible on the map
we suggest zooming to a larger scale, this may
activate the map data. |
