Main Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer, Alan Davies, is the head of the Council's paid employees and is responsible for the overall co-ordination and control of the Council within the policies set by the elected councillors and the requirements of the relevant legislation. His office also contains the Director responsible for the Council's main corporate and planning processes, as well as the internal services involved in developing the organisation and managing its performance. The office also deals with the Local Government Ombudsman.
