Planning Permission for Changes to Your Scheme

Changes to a Planning Application not yet Determined by the Council

Amended plans will be accepted where:

  • plans have been requested by planning officers or the Planning Development Control Committee; or
  • the amended plans do not materially alter the proposal (e.g.: plans which show changes which would not adversely affect interested parties or generate the need for further consultations).

Amended plans will not be accepted where:

  • The plans materially alter the submitted application and have not been requested by planning officers or Planning Development Control Committee.

We will write to an applicant or agent submitting such plans if we are not prepared to consider plans as an amendment to a current application.  The applicant will have the option to withdraw and re-submit the planning application. In some circumstances no further fee will be required for this.

Minor Amendments to a Scheme where Planning Permission already Granted

You may need to seek approval to certain minor (not material) changes to your approved scheme.  The protocol for varying planning permissions agreed by Planning Development Control Committee explains whether you will need to make a formal planning application or not.  In the event you don't need to make a new planning application, you will still need to apply to the Council on the form described below.

Apply for a Minor Amendment to Your Planning Permission

Download and print the forms, guidance and notes (No. 34 on this list) (119 Kb) This document is in PDF format.  All written requests must identify the relevant planning permission and should clearly list all the changes you want the Council to consider.  These should be detailed on precise drawings to an appropriate scale.  You must supply four copies of any supporting plans with your submission. You may send them by email to planningadvice@fareham.gov.uk or by post with drawings and information.

We will send an acknowledgement letter to you confirming the receipt of your application. We will endeavour to provide you with a decision upon your submission as soon as possible. Wherever possible, we will contact you to discuss details we are unhappy with before making any decisions.

Fees

There is a fee payable to the Council when you submit minor amendment applications relating to permissions which contain a condition that the development must accord with the approved scheme. The fee payable is £85 per request (or £25 if the planning permission relates to an extension or alteration of a dwellinghouse or other development in the curtilage of a dwelling). If the minor amendment request is submitted at the same time as details pursuant to planning conditions, just one fee of either £85 or £25 will be payable.  The fee must be paid when the request is made. Until the fee has been paid planning officers will not carry out any work in respect of the submitted details.
