The Planning Portal

It is our goal to constantly review and improve our planning service both in terms of application service and planning information/advice. In line with this we have linked with an external planning body known as ' The Planning Portal'. The Planning Portal provides an additional source of guidance and information concerning the planning system as well as facilities for study/research and up-to-date news relating to the planning process.

The Guide: A brief introduction to the planning system and some explanation of what planning is for and why it is important to us all. The guide is intended to help both householders and business people. It explains why planning controls are necessary and how decisions are made.

Application: In this section you can create electronic applications for Fareham Borough Council and submit them on-line.  To use this service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and create a User Name and Password.  You can use the Portal's on-line applications service to purchase a site location plan to accompany your application.  You can also pay the application fee online through the portal using a company called WorldPay.

Study: This section aims to help people to teach or learn about town and country planning at all levels and in all types of education.

Research: This section is set-up to help professional planners, lawyers, students, academics and others with in-depth interest in town and country planning.
