In 2009 Fareham Borough Council undertook a review of the on-street parking arrangements for residents who live in the town centre area. This followed on from concerns expressed by residents about the problems with all-day parking.
The review consisted of several studies including two periods of public consultation held over June/July 2009 and October/November 2009.
Additional comments, objections and requests were welcomed up to the 30th April 2010. All suggestions received were carefully considered and changes were made in pursuit of achieving priority for residential parking.
We are pleased to report that the Council's Executive approved the new on-street parking proposals, and now some significant improvements can be anticipated during the summer.
From September 2010 some residential areas will require a permit to park (54.8 Kb)
on-street during the day. We have provided answers to a list of Frequently Asked Questions on the residents' permit scheme (94.4 Kb) ![]()
Following implementation there will be a six month review, where we would welcome your written observations of the parking situation during this period.
The links below show the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Plans as listed within the Public Notice that was published in the Portsmouth News, on Thursday 20th May 2010. Please note that some roads may appear in more than one TRO Plan:
The Statement of Reasons for the TRO (56.8 Kb)
and the Variation Order (52.9 Kb)
is also available.
Following a number of written comments from residents, some amendments to the scheme were recommended to the Council's Executive, at its decision meeting on 4th May 2010. Please refer to the historic information below.
