Sponsorship of Roundabouts in Fareham

The options available to you

Naturally, the scope for sponsorship of this nature is very wide but an organisation may decide on one of the following options:

  • Contribute to the maintenance costs of an existing roundabout or verge area.
  • Improve or refurbish an existing area.
  • Fund the design and implementation of a totally new roundabout or verge side.

There are many options to choose from; trees, shrubs, a bright flower bed or even a piece of artwork to promote a company and its commitment to the local environment.

With all options, sponsors would have the opportunity to place their name within the scheme using approved signage to highlight their commitment as a sponsor. This would be a maximum of 300mm x 1000mm with lettering up to 50mm high.

The costs

All sponsors may choose a scheme to meet their individual requirements and will be advised accordingly. Ultimately this will depend on the finances available, taking into account the cost of any maintenance required.

Naturally the cost depends on the option chosen but minor improvements, for example to provide a flower bed or plant some trees, would cost in the order of £1,000.

A major refurbishment to create a new landscape scheme would cost in the order of £5,000-£10,000.

Agreeing a scheme

In agreeing a scheme with the sponsor the Council will undertake a risk assessment to ensure the proposals will not compromise highway safety, and seek approval from planning officers.

After agreeing the timescale for implementation and the appointment of a contractor, there will be a formal exchange of correspondence which will include details of the scheme, its maintenance, terms and conditions, and duration of the commitment.

Other Sponsorship Opportunities

Apart from landscaping, there are many other opportunities for sponsorship:

  • Fareham in Bloom - the community gardening campaign which encourages the residents, businesses and schools to take part in gardening, with an annual presentation.
  • Community tree and bulb planting schemes.
  • Street name plates, seating and signage in parks and open spaces.
  • Leaflets, maps and publications for cycle routes, car parks and allotment gardening.
