Direct Debit

This is our preferred method of payment

• You don't have to remember to make your payments
• Payments will still be made while you are away.
• You will always have the protection of the Direct Debit Guarantee (87 Kb )

The payment date is the 1st of every month.

To pay by direct debit you can:

1. download the Direct Debit Instruction (92 Kb) in pdf format. (Help with Portable Document Format ). Please print the form, complete it and return it to us at the address shown on the form.
2. email us at councilhousing@fareham.gov.uk or call us on 01329 236100 and we will send you a form to complete and return.

 

Online 24/7

In partnership with Capita Business Services you can pay your Council Housing or Garage Rent online with your Debit Card, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When using this facility, your details are transmitted in a secure and confidential way.

By Phone 24/7 Automated Service

In partnership with Capita Business Services you can pay your Council Housing or Garage Rent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using the automated telephone service. When using this facility, your details are processed in a secure and confidential way. With touch-tone keypad, follow the voice prompts and enter your payment and card details via your telephone keypad. Payments are processed automatically and you will not need to speak to a Council Officer. You will be told that your payment has been authorised and you will be given an authorisation code as confirmation.

By Phone during office hours

If you would prefer to talk to a member of the Tenancy Services staff in order to make a payment, please telephone 01329 236100 and state that you wish to make a rent payment. The member of staff will use the online payment service on your behalf to process the payment. Online authorisation will take place so the member of staff can provide you with a receipt through the post or via email as payment confirmation.

By Standing Order

You do not have the same guarantees that you would have with Direct Debit if the payments go wrong, however if you have rent arrears you would not be allowed to set up a direct debit, therefore you could set up a standing order.

If you would like to pay by standing order, please email us at councilhousing@fareham.gov.uk or contact us on 01329 236100. We will then send a form to you with our bank details on, which you would then pass to your bank to be set up. You would need to renew this with your bank any time your payment amounts change.

By Post

If you would like to pay by post then please send a cheque or postal order to the Director of Finance, Civic offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ.

Please make sure you quote your rent reference number and your name and address on the back of your cheque or postal order.

Cheques should be made payable to Fareham Borough Council.

Cash Office

You are able to make payments in person at the Cash Office in the Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham. Opening hours are 8.45am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Payments can be made by Debit cards (Maestro; Delta; Solo; Visa Electron), Cash, Cheque with bank card.
