Welcome to Housing Advice

Fareham Borough Council provides a free service to help you with housing related problems. You can contact the Housing Options team by telephone on 01329 236100 during office hours, by email on customerservices@fareham.gov.uk.

If you prefer to see someone in person, you can call in to see one of our Homelessness Prevention Officers who operate a Drop-in Service, Monday - Thursday 9.30 - 4.00pm at the Council's Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7AZ.

If you need housing advice and would like to see someone in person, but are unable to visit the Civic Offices due to health or mobility problems a home visit can be arranged by request by calling 01329 236100.

If you are seeking to gain permanent Council of Housing Association accommodation through the Council's Housing Waiting List, you need to complete a Housing Waiting List application form and register as soon as possible, please follow the link to find out more about the Housing Waiting List and LetSelect. If you are homeless and need urgent assistance, you should contact a Homelessness Prevention Officer on 01329 236100.

If you attend the Drop-in Service you should bring with you information relating to your housing problem, so that the Homelessness Prevention Officer is able to offer you full advice straightaway, information that will be useful to bring could be:

  • Your tenancy agreement
  • Letters from your landlord or lender
  • Notices and or copurt papers
  • Contact details of any support workers
  • proof of identity
  • details of any health problems
  • details of any debts or loans
  • details of your income and savings

I am homeless - how can the Council help me?
If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, Fareham Borough Council has a Housing Advice Service which can offer you advice and assistance through this difficult time. The Housing Advice Service is free and confidential and can give advice on such matters as Landlord/Tenant rights, illegal evictions, harassment, money advice and much more. Homelessness Prevention Officers operate a Drop-In Service which is available 9.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday.
