The Leisure and Community Division service areas include Parks & Open Spaces, Leisure Development, Community Development and Health Development. The main focus is to provide a strategic lead on the planning and provision of these services across the borough to ensure that they meet the needs of the community and comply with the relevant guidelines and standards.
Street Scene Services is responsible for ensuring that public streets and open spaces are maintained in a clean and tidy condition. The service maintains public highways, parks and open spaces, car parks, cemeteries, recycling banks, housing land and the foreshore. This involves sweeping, litter picking, emptying and disposal of litter bins and dog waste bins, removal of graffiti, and fly-tipping. The service also carries out a domestic bulk waste collection service which is chargeable.
