Tasks and events in Fareham this quarter are varied and well worth getting out of the house for. You may wish to visit a new area, help look after a site that is important to you, meet new people or to just be out in the fresh air!
Whatever the reason may be, your support individually or as part of a group is vital to improve our countryside. We are looking for individuals who take a pride in their local park and would consider becoming a conservation volunteer or a voluntary warden.
An experienced individual well versed in the local countryside leads each event or practical task. In the case of practical tasks the organiser running it will provide the necessary tools, training and in most cases a good cup of tea! You will need to wear old clothes and stout shoes and bring a set of waterproofs. You should also bring a packed lunch (if all day), a drink and most importantly, enthusiasm.
Fareham's Countryside Service, as well as some of the other organisations stated, runs its own volunteer group on a regular basis to undertake practical conservation work both during the week and at weekends. We always like to welcome new people whatever their age and ability to help us with work which is of a high standard and lasting value to our countryside.
