Hire of Open Spaces
Fareham Borough Council has many areas of open space and recreation grounds which are available for hire by organisations.
Generally these are charitable groups wishing to hold a summer fete or similar event, but sometimes commercial organisations wish to hold large outdoor functions for the benefit of the general public.
Popular venues include:-
- Castle Street Recreation Ground, Portchester
- The Green, Sarisbury
- Stubbington Recreation Ground
- Strawberry Fields, Warsash
- Park Lane Recreation Ground
In order to finalise your booking you will need to complete an online application form and risk assessment (134 Kb) 
. Alternatively you can download a PDF version of the Hire of Open Space form (123 Kb) . An administration charge will always be applicable, (currently £54.50) and there may be further charges for certain hirings.
All organisations will then need to sign an Agreement covering the conditions of hire, provide a risk assessment and also a copy of their public liability insurance to the value of £5,000,000. Any damage caused to the site will be assessed and may be re-charged to the hirer. A Public Entertainment Licence may be required.
If you expect to attract over 499 people to your event, you will need to provide certain information to the Fareham Safety Advisory group about traffic and safety management. You may also be required to meet with the Safety Advisory Group to discuss your event. For further information please contact the Safety Advisory Group by telephoning 01329 236100.
