Refurbished in 2004, this play area was upgraded to include equipment that is accessible for children of all ages.  It includes:

  • Springies x 3
  • Multi unit
  • Flat seat swing
  • Basket swing

The springies have been specifically designed for more inclusive play and offers a seating arrangement that allows the child to get on and off without assistance while giving good support whilst rocking.

The multi unit has been designed to offer a broad spectrum of play experiences and combinations.  There are elements that offer physical challenge such as climbing, balancing and coordination.  There are also seating and sheltered areas to encourage social play and group cooperation.

The dish roundabout gives good body support and security, making this play equipment more accessible.  The angle of the dish and its height makes side transfer possible and minimise the lifting required by helpers assisting less able children.

The large basket swing is accessible to children and young people of all ages, providing body support and security.  Facilitating social play, the swing is also big enough for several children to be grouped together or for children to be accompanied by helpers.
