Criteria for use of the Public Notice Boards

Terms and Conditions

1. Notices will promote Public Events and those activities organised by Fareham Borough Council. Notices will not be accepted from commercial or political organisations. They should only be from voluntary organisations, community groups, or other 'not for profit' groups serving the needs of the community (i.e. Community Associations, local pre-school playgroups, after school clubs, scout or guide movement events, local school PTA events, local music groups, etc. etc.)

2. Notices will be displayed for approximately a two week period prior to the date of the event. They may be displayed for slightly less or slightly more time depending on the date of posting of the notice on the boards. Notices will be removed and destroyed as soon as possible after the date of the event. Notices will not be returned.

3. Notices must be A5 size portrait whenever possible.

4. If lack of space prevents all notices being displayed, priority will be given to notices promoting Fareham Borough Council, Ferneham Hall and Fareham Leisure Centre and Westbury Manor Museum activities. Further notices will then be displayed depending on the date of the event.

5. Notices and posters are required at least one week in advance of the date you wish them to be displayed.

6. Dates for displaying posters and a full list of locations of notice boards are shown on this Council’s web site – www.fareham.gov.uk then click the Council A-Z tab,
letter P and then scroll down to Public Notice Boards.

7. Organisations are asked to post or hand deliver their notices and posters to the Reception Desk on the ground floor of the Civic Offices – and mark envelopes ‘posters’.

8. A note should be enclosed to clarify whether the posters should be displayed across the whole Borough, or on just a few local notice boards.

9. Organisations should note that acceptance of their poster does not guarantee display on any Fareham Borough Council notice boards, although every effort will be made to comply with their requests.

10. Fareham Borough Council reserves the right to refuse any notice on the grounds that it might cause public offence.
