Recycling and Waste in Fareham

The recycling and refuse collection teams are here to help you manage your waste. A comprehensive variety of services are available to enable you to successfully recycle and dispose of the waste your household produces.

Recycling and refuse are collected in wheeled bins, on an alternate collection system. Please put your bin out by 6am on collection day, or the evening before. Please take it back in as soon as possible after emptying.

Aerosols can now be recycled.  For further information about household waste and recycling, please select a link below:

Almost all households in Fareham have a recycling bin at home, for paper and card, plastic bottles and tins and cans; and one reusable sack for garden waste.

Extra garden waste can be collected if residents buy additional bags. We empty the bins on an alternate collection system - refuse one week and recycling and garden waste the next. This system has helped Fareham have one of the highest recycling rates in the country, at 42% (2007-08 figure).
