Bulky Household Waste

 

The Council provides a chargeable service for all domestic properties in the Borough for the collection of bulky household items such as furniture and large household appliances. 

 

 

Collections

Collections are booked for Mondays (except for Bank Holidays).  Payment is required in advance.  Items should be placed to the side or rear of the property, however the items need to be accessible for collection.

 

Fridge Freezers

Fridges and freezers can be collected but are charged individually, and separately to other bulk waste items.  The charge per fridge or freezer (regardless of size) is £10.  Collections for fridge / freezers take place every other Monday.

 

House Clearances

If you require assistance to clear a property, please contact our Customer Services Centre on 01329 236100 in order for a quote to be given by the Cleansing Supervisor.  Please note a visit may be required.

 

Charges

Quotes will be given depending on the number of items you have for removal, however, the list below may give you an indication of the cost:

One item                  £24.00

Half a lorry load       £53.00

Full lorry load          £92.00

Fridge                     £10.00 (per fridge)

Freezer                   £10.00 (per freezer)

 

Obtaining a Quote / Booking a Collection

To obtain a quote for your bulky waste / house clearance collection you can either complete our online quote request form or contact our Customer Service Centre on 01329 236100.  Please note a visit may be required.

 

Items we do not collect

We will not take away any monitors, TVs, light strips, microwaves, asbestos, paint, any items not listed on the booking form, any items you would not take with you if you moved house i.e. kitchen units, green waste (this should be disposed of through your fortnightly garden waste collection sacks), rubble/concrete from DIY work (this type of waste should be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres).

 

Commercial Waste

Commercial builders must dispose of their waste through a Commercial Waste Contract.  Fareham Borough Council operates an established Commercial Waste Service which is dedicated to assisting businesses with the collection and disposal of their commercial waste.
