Composting at Home - Composters and Food Digesters

A picture of a green Johanna, Waste DigesterComposting is an easy way to reduce the volume of waste in your bin.  There are a large number of materials (including uncooked vegetables, straw, cardboard egg boxes, tea leaves and bags and much more) which can be used in a composter to generate useful compost to improve your garden and to grow better plants.

Food waste digesters differ from standard composters in that they can take all food, including meat, fish, dairy products and uneaten food from plates. The food breaks down into the soil naturally.  There are two common types of food digester, these are Green Cones and Green Johannas.
