Almost all households in Fareham have a recycling bin at home, for paper and card, plastic bottles and tins and cans; and one reusable sack for garden waste.
Extra garden waste can be collected if residents buy additional bags. We empty the bins on an alternate collection system - refuse one week and recycling and garden waste the next. This system has helped Fareham have one of the highest recycling rates in the country, at 42% (2007-08 figure).
