Fulfilling the Legal Requirements

Section 34 of the Environment Protection Act seeks to ensure the commercial businesses store and dispose of their waste responsibly (Duty of Care).

Essentially you must ensure that:

The waste on your premises is contained in appropriate containers
Waste is transferred to a waste carrier or operator who is properly authorised or licensed to hand and dispose of the type and quantity of waste involved.
You have a Waste Transfer Note (Duty of Care)

Sustainable Waste Management

All residual waste is taken to the Portsmouth based incinerator and helps to generate electricity for the national grid. It is not sent to landfill sites here or overseas, so you can be sure that your waste is disposed of in a sustainable way.
