Long and Short Stay car parks explained

Fareham's car parks are divided into long and short stay to provide suitable parking facilities for the needs of the town's visitors.

Short Stay

These meet the needs of shoppers and people who wish to make relatively quick visits to the town. This could include a visit to the doctor, dentist or bank.

Market Quay Car Park Fees

  • Up to one hour - £1.00
  • Up to two hours - £2.00
  • Up to three hours - £3.00
  • Up to four hours - £4.00
  • Up to five hours - £5.00
  • Over five hours - £10.00

Short Stay Car Park Fees (excluding Market Quay)

  • Up to one hour - £0.80
  • Up to two hours - £1.60
  • Up to three hours - £2.40
  • Up to four hours - £3.20
  • Up to five hours - £4.00
  • Over five hours - £10.00

  1. Multi-storey Osborn Road
  2. Multi-storey Civic Way
  3. Ferneham Hall
  4. Ferneham Hall (Clinic)
  5. Civic Way south
  6. Civic Way north
  7. Civic Offices (Saturday only)
  8. Palmerston Avenue
  9. Trinity Street
  10. Malthouse Lane
  11. Quay Street
  12. Market Quay

Long Stay

These areas are best suited for those staying for longer than four hours. For example, people working in Fareham and business visitors.

Fees

  • Up to one hour - £0.70
  • Up to two hours - £1.40
  • Up to three hours - £2.10
  • Up to four hours - £2.80
  • Over four hours - £3.50

Security

24-hour live closed circuit television surveillance is provided in some of the parking areas and all car parks receive regular patrols by our car park Patrol Officers. Please help to deter crime by not leaving any articles on view in your parked vehicle.

 

Season Tickets

Annual and quarterly season tickets are available by application to the Director of Finance and Resources, for long stay car parks only. For further details please tel: 01329 236100 ext: 2355 or e-mail engineering.transportation@fareham.gov.uk.

Annual - £490

Quarterly - £150

Penalty Charge Notices

All the car parks are regularly patrolled and you will be required to pay a Penalty Charge if you fail to comply with the parking regulations as displayed on the notice boards in the car parks.

Examples of the most common offences:

  • failure to display a valid parking ticket
  • not parked within a marked bay
  • parked in a disabled person's bay without an official badge

The current charge is £60.

Theft from Vehicles

Please protect your vehicle and its contents by:

  • locking all doors and closing all windows
  • locking any valuables away in the boot
  • fitting a security device to hi-fi and radio
  • making sure your steering lock is engaged (if fitted)
  • installing an alarm with an ignition immobiliser

Please Note:

  • Charges apply between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday.
  • No charges on Sundays or public holidays.
  • Parking bays for disabled persons are reserved for official badge holders only, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • No charge for disabled drivers displaying the official badge (subject to arrangements for Pay on Foot parking explained above)
