Swanwick Shore Conservation area was designated in 1994 to protect the character of the small riverside settlement on the Eastern bank of the River Hamble, close to the Bursledon Bridge. It includes a small group of historic buildings, the river frontage, public hard and the Bridge Road frontage south of the A27.
