| Preface | This document provides guidance on how the appropriate design and layout of new development within the Borough can help reduce crime and the fear of crime and lessen anti-social behaviour. It takes account of Government guidance and amplifies Policy DG5 (Design) of the Fareham Borough Local Plan Review. It complements other Council initiatives including those set out in its Community Safety Strategy 1999-2002. | ||
| The guidance was published in draft for public consultation for four weeks to 10 December 1999. Amendments were made in the light of responses received and the document adopted by the Council's Planning and Transportation Committee as Supplementary Planning Guidance on 3 February 2000. Those proposing new development in the Borough will need to demonstrate that the principles incorporated in this guidance have been taken into account in the design and layout of their proposed schemes. | |||
| Further information on this Supplementary Planning Guidance may be obtained from the Borough Council's Planning Department, telephone number (01329) 236100 extension 2349. | |||
