Criteria for the Provision of Disabled Residents' Parking Spaces
The Council will provide advisory parking
bays for disabled persons to use.
The following criteria must be met before
consent is given for the marking of a disabled resident's parking
bay on the public highway:-
- The applicant must be a blue or orange
badge holder
- The applicant must be either the
driver of the vehicle or resident at the address with a
partner or family member who does drive
- There must be an on-street parking
problem
- The bay will not be provided where
there is an adequate off-street parking facility unless
there is supporting medical evidence to confirm that the
degree of disability prevents the use of this facility
- The bay will not be provided where
there are existing waiting restrictions or it is
considered to be unsafe.
Please note the disabled person must be the
driver of the car.
If you wish to apply for a disabled
resident's parking bay and you meet the above criteria, please
fill in the online
