(5) Hill Head Picnic Area (Completed 2002)

 

This was a partnership scheme funded by Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council Coastal Strategy funding.

 

The site was originally an area of bare reclaimed ground exposed to the full force of gales and high seas. Solid concrete was therefore used to create the main picnic area. Recycled granite setts and old granite kerbs laid flat were used to surface the seating area. The seats are made of recycled plastic.

 

With panoramic views of Hill Head, the Isle of Wight and the Solent this is a popular spot on sunny days.
