Smoothly rolling chalk landform; very open character with few trees or hedgerows; dominance of intensive arable cultivation with only occasional areas of pasture; exposed and elevated character with sweeping views; rural and generally unspoilt character with occasional pylon; sparse settlement and road pattern.
