Enclosed Strips and Furlongs

Enclosed strips and furlongs are fields that probably originate from the enclosure of medieval strip fields. They are bounded by relatively long, gently curving boundaries often of reversed 'S' form, and are most clearly recognised where the field shapes still retain a long narrow form.
