The Fareham Borough Local Plan Review, prepared by the Borough Council, was adopted in March 2000. It provides guidance on the use and development of land to 2006. The strategy of the Local Plan Review is to meet the development requirements set out in the Hampshire Structure Plan Review (this is an external hyperlink) and the needs of the residents and businesses of the Borough, while protecting the environment. Under the new Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (this is an external hyperlink), the Local Plan and its contents will be saved for three years, until superseded by the adoption of the various Local Development Documents as set out in the Local Development Scheme.
Both the Fareham Borough Local Plan Review text and proposals map can be viewed via the Government's Planning Portal (this is an external hyperlink) website.
