Local Development Scheme

The Fareham Local Development Scheme (LDS) is a document which tells people how Fareham Borough Council will develop a Local Development Framework (LDF).

 

The LDS has three main purposes:

  • It explains which documents will make up the Fareham LDF and how they relate to each other;
  • It sets out the timetable for preparation and adoption of the documents, including the stages where community involvement will take place;
  • It establishes and reflects the Council's priorities for producing the different types of documents.

The LDS also identifies the studies that have or will be undertaken to provide information and evidence to support the production of the various documents.

 

The Local Development Scheme was initially approved by the Secretary of State and came into effect from 19th April 2005.

 

Timetables for preparation of several of the Local Development Documents have since been revised and approved by the Secretary of State on 30th March 2007, the documents that will comprise the Local Development Framework have also changed. The amended scheme can be viewed below:
