Fareham Borough Council has updated their Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). The assessment is required by Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing (PPS3) and will form a key part of the evidence base to the Local Development Framework (LDF).
The purpose of the assessment is to show how housing targets for the borough can be met by identifying and assessing sites with the potential for new housing development. It is important to understand that the identification of a site within the assessment is no guarantee that it will be approved for development or allocated in the LDF.
The updated assessment takes account of recent changes to PPS3. Sites have been assessed in terms of their suitability, availability and achievability and only those deemed deliverable or developable form part of the final assessment.
