Supplementary Planning Documents

Supplementary Planning Documents will supplement policies and proposals in the Development Plan Documents and may take the form of site development briefs, or issue-based documents.  The preparation of Supplementary Planning Documents involves evidence gathering and an initial draft.

Supplementary Planning Documents are non-statutory documents which are not subject to independent examination and do not have Development Plan status. However, they will be subject to a thorough process of public consultation, in accordance with the Council's Statement of Community Involvement, and will be subject to Sustainability Appraisal. They can also be 'material considerations' when making decisions about new development.

 

Affordable Housing

This document sets out the process and mechanisms for the provision of affordable housing in Fareham, including design guidance where applicable.

 An Affordable Housing SPD and a Sustainability Appraisal of the SPD have been adopted following public consultation.

 

 Residential Car and Cycle Parking Standards

The Residential Car and Cycle Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document sets out the levels of parking developers are expected to meet in all new residential development. 

 

Site Development Briefs for Peters Road, Hunts Pond Road and Coldeast

The Hunts Pond Road development brief sets out the planning, design and infrastructure requirements for residential development and was adopted on the 19th January 2007.

 The Peters Road, Locks Heath development brief sets out the planning, design and infrastructure requirements for residential development and was adopted on the 15th November 2007.

The Coldeast development brief sets out the planning, design and infrastructure requirements for a mixed use development and was adopted on the 24th October 2011.

The Daedalus Supplementary Planning Document has been placed on hold following the designation of the site as an Enterprise Zone. This requires the setting up of a simplified planning regime through a Local Development Order. Gosport Borough Council, has adopted a Supplementary Planning Document for the part of the site lying within Gosport Borough which can be downloaded from the Gosport Borough Council website (this is an external hyperlink).
