2008 – 2009 - The English National Concessionary Travel Scheme

There is no need for existing pass holders to reapply for the new National Concession.

 

The new passes will be issued at the end of March 2008.  However, Fareham residents can still use their Fareham Bus Pass for travel under the terms of the new scheme, until their new bus pass arrives.

From 1st April 2008, eligible users will get free off-peak travel on local buses anywhere in England.

People in England aged 60 and over, or with qualifying disabilities will be entitled to free off-peak local bus travel throughout England.

  • Off peak is; 9:30am – 11pm Monday to Friday, and all day weekends and bank holidays.
  • The new pass will conform to a National Standard and will be a similar size to the existing pass.
  • Further information will be published in the Spring 2008 Edition of Fareham today.
  • For journeys which start within the Fareham borough area, Fareham bus pass holders will be entitled to free travel during the additional times of 9am – 12.59am Monday to Friday.
