A Guide to the Concessionary Travel Scheme

About the scheme
The concessionary travel scheme is designed to assist residents of Fareham who are aged 60 or over, or who are disabled, with the cost of using public transport.
The Council offers two types of concession:
- A Fareham Bus Pass for residents who are aged 60 or over, or disabled and aged 5 or over.
- Travel Tokens for residents who are disabled aged 16 or over. (Anyone aged 75 or older who was in receipt of tokens on or before 31 March 2006 can continue to receive tokens).
Where there is an entitlement to both concessions, you may only apply for one, either a bus pass, OR travel tokens. You are only entitled to one concession in any twelve month period.
If you are eligible to receive either concession, you need to choose the concession that is most suited to your own needs and mobility. If you wish to change your concession, please contact the Concessionary Travel team at the Civic Offices for further details.

The information that you provide is used to administer the travel concession scheme. The information we hold about you is normally retained for seven years. We have a duty to protect the funds we administer and may use your information for the prevention and detection of fraud. From 1st April 2009 eligible Fareham residents will be entitled to the statutory minimum concession, which is free off peak travel on local services anywhere in England.
- Off peak is; 9:30am – 11pm Monday to Friday, and all day weekends and bank holidays.
- The pass conforms to a National Standard and the size of a credit card.
