Travel Tokens

The tokens can be used in taxis, for use on the dial-a-ride service operated by Fareham Community Action, or on buses. However, if you use your tokens on the bus, unlike the bus pass, no discount is given and therefore the full fare is payable. Each token has a value and can be used on their own or in conjunction with cash to pay the fare.

If you are planning to use your tokens to travel by taxi, you are advised to check with the taxi firm at the time of booking, or with the taxi driver before commencing your journey, that your travel tokens will be accepted in full or part payment of the taxi fare.

Who can apply for Tokens?

You must be a resident within the Borough of Fareham and a qualifying disabled person.

Anyone aged 75 or older who was in receipt of tokens on or before 31 March 2006 can continue to receive tokens.  However, if at the time of their next renewal a resident swaps their concession to a Fareham Bus Pass; Companion Bus Pass or Free Travel Bus Pass, they will not be able to switch back to tokens unless they meet the criteria of a qualifying disabled person.

How much do the tokens cost?

The current annual price for a pack of tokens is £5.00. For this fee you will receive £35.00 in tokens for the year.

You can only apply for one pack of tokens in any 12 month period.
