Any registered elector may vote by post, either on a permanent basis or for a specific election.
If you choose to vote by post, you will need to make an application in advance. Applications must reach the office by 5pm 11 working days before the election, but otherwise you can apply at any time.
Your ballot paper will then be sent to you about a week before election day, together with a statement which you must complete in order to validate your vote. You then mark your ballot paper in the usual way and seal it in the ballot paper envelope. Then place the ballot paper envelope and the statement together in the larger envelope and return it before the close of poll.
You will find a postal voting application form (this is an external hyperlink) here. Simply print it, fill it in and return it to Election Services, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham, PO16 7AZ. You cannot fill in this form electronically as we need a signature from you.
Remember: the closing date for applications is 11 working days before the election.
