Freedom of Information Complaints Procedure

You can complain about the way that the Borough Council handled a Freedom of Information (FOI) request or appeal against a FOI decision made by the Council – or any other FOI matter – by following the arrangements below.  These arrangements are in line with the Council’s Corporate Complaints procedure. 

 

The Council will endeavour to: 

• investigate your complaint fully,
• resolve the problem as best as it can;
• recognise your right to take your complaint or appeal further if you remain dissatisfied.

To make a complaint

To appeal against an FOI Decision

who will arrange to have the decision reviewed by the Council's Chief Executive Officer.

 

If you are not happy with the outcome....

If the original decision is confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer and you are still dissatisfied, you may forward your grievance to the Information Commissioner at:
