Igor Andrukhin graduated from
the Art College in Kharkov in the Ukraine and obtained a Masters
Degree in the Saint-Petersburg Academy of Art and Design (former
Mukhina Academy).
Igor is a sculpture, metal artsmith, and lectures on formal composition at Mukhina College. He has a special interest in restoration of interior and exterior metalwork in St Petersburg.
Igor likes his materials to express its natural properties and maximise the limits of the metal.
For the Henry Cort Exhibition, Igor has designed and made the sculpture "The Plenty". This unique creation reflects the Horn of Plenty. The stones, spilling from the wrought iron shell represent fruit that you would buy from the market. "The Plenty" symbolises the constant revival of nature and uses traditional iron making to create a contemporary sculpture.
