Ryszard Mazur, born in
Wroclaw, passed his mastership exam in 1984 and in 1989 was
awarded Master of Artistic Crafts by the Ministry for Art. He
opened his own studio in 1976 and has been an important
contributor to the revival of blacksmithing in Poland.
Ryszard obtains commissions from all over Poland with major artistic awards in 1996 and 1997. He is a member of the Polish Artistic Association.
Ryszard is a designer and blacksmith. His artistic works are always connected with Wroclaw be it historic work for monumental objects, metalwork for contemporary architecture or small smith forms.
For the Henry Cort Exhibition, Ryszard has designed and made three figures based on two men and a woman shopper photographed outside Westbury Manor. The sculptures honour people living in towns throughout Europe.
