The second part of Fareham Borough Council’s Parks, Woodland and Countryside’s ‘Lights Out’ programme takes place on Friday 8th August on Warsash Common, off Fleet End Road.
Starting at 8pm, Della De Ville, the lady of the night, will once again lead visitors through the fascinating world of moths. With the use of special electronic detection equipment members of the public will be able to learn about the ecology of these little creatures.
Executive Member for Community, Councillor Connie Hockley, said: “Following the great success of the first event in June I’m sure the second part will prove just as popular. Once again participants will have the opportunity of being part of the national recording scheme with the use of special equipment and techniques, so I urge residents to book their tickets early.”
With places costing only £2.50 per person and limited to just 30 people, booking is essential. All enquiries and bookings can be made to Fareham Tourist Information Centre on 01329 221342.
This is just one of the many events taking place in Fareham throughout the year to encourage active participation in horticultural, conservation and other environmentally related activities to get people into the great outdoors. The full programme is available from Fareham Borough Council and on the website at www.fareham.gov.uk.
