School’s out!

Fareham Borough Council is once again holding two fun packed afternoons to entertain youngsters over the August summer holiday.

Children will have the chance to learn about woodland and seashore habitats, looking closely at the different plants and animals they contain whilst having a great time with a host of arts, games and educational activities.

A member of the Council’s Health Development Team will also be on hand to give advice and raise awareness about the sun and related health issues.

 

Friday 8th August - All that glitters isn’t gold

Meet at the Salterns Park main car park, off Salterns Road, Hill Head.

A day of exploration around this beautiful stretch of coastline, examine the creatures which live on our beaches. A fun packed afternoon which also includes creating beach art, crafts and a sandcastle competition.

 

Friday 29th August -The Enchanted Wood

Meet at Holly Hill Woodland Park main car park, off Barnes Lane, Sarisbury Green.

Learn about the healing power of nature and the fruits of the forest.

With “lashings of lemonade”, go on a real famous five adventure through the woods of Holly Hill.

Executive Member for Community, Councillor Connie Hockley said: “Following the success of last year’s summer holiday events, I’m delighted two more great activities will be taking place this year. ‘All that glitters’ and ‘The Enchanted Wood’ afternoons offer a fantastic opportunity to discover the local area and learn about the many different habitats.”

  

Places are limited to 40 children per event, with advanced booking advised.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Both events are suited to the 5 -11 year old age range.

The events begin at 1pm and finish around 4pm.
