Residents from the Titchfield area were given the chance to raise the issues that concern them most at the Titchfield Community Action Team (CAT) meeting held last night at the Locks Heath Free Church in Hunts Pond Road.
Presentations centred around traffic management with speeding being an issue for many present. Residents also received feedback on youth provision in the area, including the upcoming re-launch of the Titchfield Youth Project – Oasis. They heard that the police and council officers had received enormous support from the Titchfield Village Trust in getting the project to the stage of a re-launch scheduled to take place at the end of February.
Also discussed were the 300 new homes planned for Hunts Pond Road and the impact these would have on traffic and services such as doctor surgeries and bus routes.
Chairman of the Titchfield Community Action Team, Councillor Francis Devonshire, said: “Community Action Team meetings are about us working more closely with our public sector partners and residents to identify and resolve those issues that are of concern.
“In September residents said they thought there was too little youth provision in the area. As a result we have worked with the police and local residents to bring better facilities for young people in the Titchfield area. I am pleased that the CATs meetings have helped us take this positive step forward.”
