A series of exhibitions is set to take place across the Borough of Fareham offering residents the chance to find out more about development in the Borough. The Local Development Framework consultation will focus on three main areas; the Core Strategy; site allocations and the town centre area action plan.
The Core Strategy sets out a vision for the Borough until 2026 and identifies community needs and aspirations in the Borough. Once adopted, all decisions on planning applications in the Borough will be based on the Core Strategy.
The site allocations issues and options document looks at land around the Borough and where new developments such as housing, retail, economic development, recreation and community uses could go. The town centre area action plan offers a 20 year strategy for Fareham town centre to manage change and growth.
Information on all three documents will be available at the exhibitions, along with officers from the Council’s Planning Policy section, who will be on hand to answer questions and offer additional information to residents.
The exhibitions are due to take on the following days:
Executive Member for Planning & Transportation, Councillor David Swanbrow, said: “It’s important that residents have the chance to see the areas where development could take place in the Borough. These exhibitions give them the chance to see the proposals, as well as to ask questions of officers from the planning section of the council.
“I would urge everyone to find the time to attend the exhibition and find out for themselves the future development areas of the Borough of Fareham.”
